Horse & Sleigh Fun Fold With Video Tutorial
Today I’m sharing a sneak peak of the Horse & Sleigh Christmas Cards I made. The Stampin’ Up! Horse & Sleigh Suite is available as an online exclusive July 6th.
This is a quick and pretty easy fun fold card to make. I show you in the video how to do heat embossing and to make the fun fold. So simple and yet so beautiful.

Directions for card:
- Fold White card base on the score lines, 5-1/2” score you fold so base is closed with 2-3/4” scored side up. Fold on 2-3/4” score line from right side to left. Burnish with bone folder.
- Stamp the saying on the piece of DSP to go on the right side in Black Memento Ink.
- Open card base, adhere designer series paper to each side, stamp saying piece goes on the right side. They are side by side on the inside. Re-fold the left side out on the score line. Cover the paper with a piece of copy paper then burnish the fold again (copy paper is to protect the DSP).
- Apply the two 5-1/2” x 1-1/4” Designer Series paper strips to the 11” x 1-1/4” White strip with the 2-3/4” score line on the right hand side (just the opposite of the card base). Fold and burnish with Bone Folder on both score lines, covering the DSP with paper before burnishing on the DSP.
- Tape strip to card base. On the left side, back side of the 5-1/2” section of the strip, add tape to the first 2-5/8” and adhere to the far left (2-3/4” left panel). Add tape to the right side of the back side of the 2-3/4” section of the strip (in other words, the tape goes on each end of the strip for 2-5/8″). With strip stretched out flat, adhere to card base.
- Die cut 3 trees from White Cardstock. You can use Adhesive sheets for the tree on the DSP on the right side only). Adhere one to right side of card front under the saying more to the left. The other two will be added after the sleigh is on.
- Heat emboss the horse & sleigh onto Black Cardstock (if you don’t know how to heat emboss, follow instructions in video). Dies cut out with coordinating die. Attached to strip with seal.
- Add the other 2 white trees to strip by gluing the bottom front of one tree to back side of strip behind the horse. On the other tree, add glue to the back of the bottom part of tree and adhere to the front of second section of strip.
- Stamp rabbit in Basic Grey Ink on White Cardstock. Die cut out with coordinating die. Adhere to strip with a glue dot by the tree.
- Apply the Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes to the card as desired. On the card made in the video I added red festive pearls to the two solid white embossed areas of horse.
- To finish the envelope add a piece of designer series paper to envelope flap.
Cardstock Cutting Instructions for Horse & Sleigh Christmas Cards:
- Basic White: 11” x 4-1/4”, score at 2-3/4” & 5-1/2” (card base), 11” x 1-1/4”, score at 2-3/4” & 5-1/2” (strip for Z-Fold), scraps for trees and rabbit
- Black: 5-1/2” x 2-3/4” (sleigh)
- One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper: (2) 5-1/2” x 4-1/4”, (2) 5-1/2” x 1-1/4” ( when cutting the DSP I used the bottom of the paper for this strip)
