Bee My Valentine Creative Fold Card & Video Tutorial

Bee My Valentine

Today I’m sharing the Bee My Valentine stamp set and punch with you. I am really enjoying this stamp set and punch. Of course, the Bee Mine designer series paper is way too cute. I wanted the bee to have antenna so I stamped them above his face. I guess I could have stamped them on White Cardstock, only I’m not one who enjoys fussy cutting. The black body of the bee is heat embossed.

This set would make fun birthday and anniversary cards too. It’s not only for Valentine’s Day. Since my husband enjoys animals on his cards this will be for him. The card made in the video is being sent to my granddaughter to use. I hope you enjoyed this card and seeing a fun fold as much as I enjoyed making and sharing it with you. Happy Stamping!

Card Directions

  1. Cut your card base 6-1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored at 2-1/4” on the long side (6-1/2”). Then cut your front fold piece 3-1/4” x 3-1/2”, scored at ½” on the short side (3-1/4”). Fold each piece on the score lines and burnish with Bone Folder.
  2. Attached the 2” x 5-1/4” Designer Series Paper to the left side of card front.
  3. Adhere the 2-1/2” x 3-1/4” DSP to the large side of the 3-1/4” x 3-1/2” panel of Sweet Sorbet Cardstock. With the DSP facing up, add adhesive to the right side of panel 1/2” section. Next, attach this section to the card inside right hand side (white cardstock will cover the 1/2” section).
  4. Add the 1-7/8” x 5-1/4” DSP to right side of 4” x 5-1/4” White Cardstock (inside piece). Stamp the interior white cardstock with a sentiment in Black Memento Ink. Adhere to card inside covering the 1/2” section of the front flap.
  5. Stamp the greeting in Black Memento Ink onto Basic White Cardstock, crop with the 5th largest Countryside Corner die. With Daffodil Delight Ink stamp a flower on either side of greeting and then stamp the stems in Granny Apple Green Ink. Crop Sweet Sorbet Cardstock with the 4th largest Countryside Corner die and adhere the white stamped piece to it. This piece is used to hold the right smaller fold of front in place when card is closed.
  6. Using Dimensionals adhere the left side of your greeting to card front making sure you only put the Dimensionals to the far left so your smaller fold piece will latch properly.
  7. The bee body is stamped in Lemon Lolly Ink or Daffodil Delight (video card) and the stripes are heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder. Punch out with the Bee My Valentine Punch.
  8. Stamp wing outline in Petal Pink Ink. Using the heart shape stamp the same size at the wings, ink stamp in Petal Pink, stamp off once then stamp inside the wings. Punch out the wings with the Bee My Valentine Punch.
  9. The antenna is stamped first in Black Memento Ink then the face right underneath them. Wings are added to back of bee with a Glue Dot. Mini-Dimensionals and Glue Dot are used to add bee to card front.
  10. Adhesive-Backed Heart & Flowers embellishments were added with red flowers inside the Daffodil Delight flowers stamped next to greeting. On the inside add a couple hearts around the sentiment.
