Today we are enjoying a sneak peek of the Thoughtful Journey Suite Collection being released May 1st along with some of the new 2024 – 2025 In-Colors. This suite is fantastic and the colors are gorgeous. This was an enjoyable card, and I’m looking forward to making more of them.
I’m showing you how to make a paper strip scrappy background to show off all the beauty of this suite. For the Thoughtful Wishes card, I left a small space between each strip. On the Latte Love card, I placed the strips together. Either way you do it is correct. Happy Stamping!
Card Directions
- Cut and score all cardstock and papers as listed under Cutting Directions below.
- Fold the Petunia Pop Card Base in half on the score line, and burnish it with a Bone Folder.
- Use a mix of Petunia Pop, Peach Pie, and two to three designs of Designer Series Paper (DSP) scrap paper to cut a total of fifteen (15) 3/4” x 5” strips.
- Emboss the Peach Pie strips with the So Swirly Embossing Folder.
- Arrange the various embossed Peach Pie strips, Petunia Pop, and various DSP strips to determine pattern and placement on the Petunia Pop 3-7/8” x 5-1/8” strip layer. Then adhere in place. Once adhered, use scissors to trim the overhang off. If needed, use the scraps you trim off to fill the small areas at the corners.
- Center and adhere the strip layer to the Blackberry Bliss 4” x 5-1/4” layer. Adhere this layer to the card base front.
- Using the Thoughtful Wishes dies, crop the greenery/flowers from Thoughtful Journey DSP. Adhere to the card front with Glue Dots.
- Heat emboss the greeting in White Embossing Power on Petunia Pop Cardstock. Crop with a Stylish Shape Die then adhere to the card front with Dimensionals.
- Embellish with the Adhesive-Backed Pearl Trio.
- The inside was finished by stamping the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss Ink onto Basic White Cardstock. Stamp an image in Petunia Pop Ink in the bottom corner, add a piece of DSP down the left-hand side, and then adhere to the inside of the card.
- For a matching envelope, adhere a piece of DSP to the flap. Then, trim the excess off.

- Petunia Pop: 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4” (card base) 3-7/8” x 5-1/8” (strip layer), 3-1/4” x 3/4” (greeting), (3) 3/4” x 5” (strips)
- Blackberry Bliss: 4” x 5-1/4” (front layer)
- Peach Pie: (3) 3/4” x 5” (strips)
- Lost Lagoon: Scraps for die-cutting
- Basic White: 4” x 5-1/4” (inside)
- Thoughtful Journey 12”x12” Designer Series Paper: (9) 3/4” x 5” (strips), 6” x 2-1/2” (envelope flap), scraps for die cutting
