Today we’re enjoying Thoughtful Expressions stamp set with the Poetic Expressions Designer Series Paper. Who doesn’t love hummingbirds? For this card we’re stamping the bird and adding just a little bit of color to it and then let the beauty of the embossing folder and designer series paper do the talking.
Card Directions
- Cut and score all cardstock and papers as listed under Cutting Directions below.
- Fold Thick Basic White Card Base in half on the score lines, burnish with Bone Folder.
- Adhere Designer Series Paper (DSP) to Thick Basic White Cardstock (landscaped card).
- Emboss 3-3/4” x 5” White Cardstock with Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder, adhere to card front.
- Crop Bubble Bath Cardstock with 2nd largest Thoughtful Expressions Die, adhere to card front with Dimensionals.
- Punch a piece of Vellum Cardstock with the 2-3/8” Circle Punch. Use a little Seal or a couple Glue dots to add Vellum Cardstock to Bubble Bath die cut where the adhesive will be covered by the hummingbird placement.
- Stamp hummingbird in Pretty Peacock Ink on White Cardstock. Color part of hummingbird with light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend (I did belly of bird and some of the feathers). Add to card front with Dimensionals.
- Stamp greeting in Pretty Peacock Ink, crop with Stylish Shapes Die, add to card front with Dimensionals & Seal.
- Embellish with Petal Pink & Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems.
- For the inside of card add a strip of DSP to left side of White Cardstock panel. Stamp sentiment in Pretty Peacock Ink. Adhere to panel of Bubble Bath Cardstock then adhere to inside of card.
- The Envelope was finished with a piece of Poetic Expressions Designer Series Paper to Envelope Flap with Liquid Glue, trim off excess.

- Basic White Thick: 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4” (card base)
- Basic White: (2) 3-3/4” x 5” (embossed layered card front & inside of card), 3-1/2” x 3/4” (greeting), 3” x 3-1/2” (for stamping)
- Bubble Bath: 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” (die cut), 4” x 5-1/4” (inside)
- Vellum Cardstock: 2-3/4” x 2-3/4” (circle punch)
- A Poetic Expressions 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper: 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” (card front), 5/8” x 3-3/4” (inside strip)
